i got a popup alert from fella this morning reminding me that 12/6 marks my one year anniversary as a deviant. while i've removed several early deviations from the site, i do save them on my backup hd and looking back through them i see tremendous improvement in my work and technique. i feel that seeing the work of others and studying their artist notes and comments has helped me far beyond what i could have learned on my own. having access to the diversity of artwork and the taking inspiration from them, i have tried things that i never would have thought of on my own and learned from them. i've learned a great deal from this community and thank you all for sharing your work with me and the rest of the world!

should i opt for premium access? while i could easily afford a year-to-year premium access account, i don't know that i yet have the time or talent to get the full benefit from it. i belong to a few clubs (soon to be groups) but i don't make frequent journal entries, i don't mind only seeing 24 deviations at a time when browsing, i use ad-block with firefox so i don't see ads anyway and my page design options suit me just fine. i could benefit from the added critiques but i don't know that there's anything else in a premium subscription that is worth the cost right now. perhaps in a few months but not at the moment...
